The beautiful design of the Keurig hot and cold brewer features plastic and metal.
These design features allow for easy blending in contemporary kitchen interiors.
It also has a sturdier design in comparison to other K-cup models, making it a definite improvement overall.
The many additional features have coffee drinkers excited about this Keurig K-Elite model.
Keurig K-Elite Hot And Cold Brewer - AT A GLANCE
- Enjoy the most popular cup sizes: 4, 6, 10, and 12 oz.
- The coffee's flavor is enhanced with the "Strong Brew" button.
- Create iced coffee using the "Iced" setting.
- Instant soups and oatmeal are possible with the "Hot Water on Demand" button.
- K-cups are brewed in under one minute.
- Can brew up to eight cups before refilling 75 oz reservoir.
- Removable drip tray allows accommodation for travel mugs.
In addition to the inclusion of design improvements and details, this brewer also meets consumer demand whereby they wanted to make a stronger brew or iced coffee at home using their k-cups.
With its brushed metal finish, the K-Elite is a tempting appliance for coffee lovers of all types.
Buttons are available along the top of the Keurig hot and cold brewer allowing for easier control (1).
In addition to the different cup sizes already mentioned and buttons dedicated to hot water on demand and iced coffee, you'll also find an automatic on and off option.
This button is available to help save energy, as well as to allow you to set a time to have coffee ready.
The 75 oz. reservoir prevents users from having to refill it throughout the day frequently. This feature is particularly handy if there are multiple coffee drinkers in a household, dorm, or other location.
Another fun feature about the reservoir is it’s illuminated with a blue LED light. When you’re in a poorly lit kitchen, this feature is especially useful because you can see how much water is available in the reservoir. When the water level becomes too low, the light will begin blinking.

It is not recommended that the reservoir goes into the dishwasher—in fact, it’s strongly advised in the starter guide that you do not do this. Otherwise, there’s risk of the unit becoming damaged. The starter guide doesn’t state as such, however.
For those who had concerns about previous models looking “cheap” or like they wouldn’t hold up to frequent use, the K-Elite has resolved that issue.
When removing the drip tray and plat from the brewer, it will accommodate taller cups up to 7.2 inches tall. For those who are always on the go with travel tumblers or cups, this is good news.
Those who purchase this model will also receive a sampler bonus pack of 6 K-cup pods, water filter assembly, and a starter guide. There's also a limited one-year warranty.
If you had the 2.0 series, you'll find that the water filter is the same design that consists of a design with clear plastic with side tabs that snap together. This water filter should be changed every two months, or every sixty tank fills, as recommended by the manufacturer.

TECHNIQUES, TIPS, AND TRICKS
If you're not a fan of instant coffee makers, this brewer will change your mind with the iced feature alone.
Not only does the "instant ice" button allow you to make iced coffee with the simple press of a button, but you can do so without the confusion of many other coffee makers.
Often iced coffee tastes watered down and has a terrible loss of flavor. With the K-Elite, you won't experience any loss of flavor, there's no watered-down experiences, and your drink is extremely cold (2).
Another feature many are excited about is the “Strong Brew” button. Not only does it create a more flavorful and robust cup of coffee in comparison to not pressing the button, but it doesn't take extra time.
It’s quick, convenient, and simple to use. For those who love enjoying a strong cup of coffee in the morning, pressing this button will do the job.
Though some may believe the price may be a bit high for this single cup coffee brewer, its features more than make up for its cost.
In addition to the convenience, it allows coffee lovers with its fifteen-minute interval auto on and off function, the range of 187 to 192-degree temperature control enables you to create the perfect cup of coffee.
COMPARISON TO SIMILAR PRODUCTS
When looking at the K-Elite and how it compares to the K55 single cup coffee maker, the first thing that jumps out at me is the size of the reservoir.
The K55’s is 48 oz. and K-Elite’s is 75 oz. This model also has a simpler appearance, it doesn't brew as many different cup sizes, and there is no "Strong Brew" button option.
Many people love the K55 for its simple design, price point, and ability to keep in small areas of the kitchen. There’s no touchscreen, or any other bells or whistles, but instead a power button and buttons for choosing a small, medium, or large size coffee.
You can brew up to five standard cups of coffee in the K55, and it will brew cup sizes including 6, 8, and 10 oz.
Refilling the Keurig is simple—all you have to do is lift the lid and refill, or remove the reservoir. For those who would like to fill a travel mug, the drip tray is removable allowing you to do so just like the K-Elite.
For those who love the “Iced Coffee” or “Hot Water on Demand” buttons, they are also not available on the K55.
The “auto off” feature is available for this model, however, when the unit is idle for more than two hours. There is no “auto on” feature for the K55 model, unfortunately.
The K55 is straightforward to clean with a descaling video that’s provided. On the K-Elite, there’s a descaling button available to allow for quick and simple cleaning.
Descaling should occur every three to six months on all Keurig machines, as recommended by the manufacturer. The exterior of machines should be cleaned with a wet cloth regularly.
It takes approximately four minutes for the K55 to preheat, which is a big difference compared to the K-Elite’s ability to provide coffee in under one minute. Users, however, only need to preheat the unit one time per day.
There are compatibility issues with the K55 with specific pods including K-carafe pods, K-mugs, CBTL pods, Nespresso, Verismo pods, and Vue cups. No compatibility issues with pods have been reported with the K-elite yet.
Thanks to each of its features, this Keurig brewer is one of the best single cup coffee makers available.
For those who love greeting their mornings with a freshly brewed cup of coffee or those who enjoy an iced coffee in the afternoon, Keurig K-Elite is the machine for you.
Not only will it fit nicely in with your contemporary appliances, but it will also work conveniently with your busy lifestyle.
